This printer maintenance kit provides you with the
most commonly used parts that wear. Replacing these worn parts will allow
for maximum paper feed along with quality print performance

------------------ WARNING ------------------
The fuser is very hot and can cause burns Turn the
printer off, unplug it, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before
performing these maintenance procedures.
Note:
you will replace 2 rollers per paper
tray.
If an optional multi-bin mailbox is attached to
the printer, pull the mailbox away from the printer.
Open the lower door on the left side of the
printer.
If the printer contains an optional duplexer,
press the green tab on the right side of the duplexer and pull the duplexer
out of the printer.
To unlock the fuser, rotate the blue levers down.
On the right side of the fuser, lift the large
green lever to release the fuser springs.
On the left side of the fuser, rotate the blue
gear down two or three times to release the fuser.
Firmly lift the fuser up by the blue tabs on both
ends, and then pull the fuser out.
Remove the new fuser from its packaging.
Use the blue tabs to slide the fuser into the
printer along the guides, making sure it clicks into place. Caution:
Use only the blue tabs to push the fuser into the printer.
On the right side of the fuser, push the green
lever down. And rotate the blue levers up until they snap into place.
If an optional duplexer was removed from the
printer, slide the duplexer back into the printer until it clicks into
place.
Close the lower left door.
If an optional multi-bin mailbox is attached to
the printer, push the mailbox back toward the printer.
Open tray 2 (optional on some models) until it
stops. Lift the blue release lock on the right side of the tray.
Lift up the tray slightly and remove it from the printer. Repeat to
remove tray 3.
On the inside right of each opening, locate the
two paper rollers that are blue on the ends. Note: The
rollers that are not blue on the end will not be replaced.
On the end of each roller, pinch together the
release lever and handle between two fingers and slide the roller off of
its spindle. Set the rollers aside.
Remove the new rollers from their packaging. Note:
Use any of the rollers. They are all the same size.
While holding the roller by its handle, slide the
roller on to the spindle until it clicks into place. Repeat this
procedure for the other three rollers.
To replace tray 3, align the arrow on the back of
the tray with the arrow inside the printer.
Slide the tray into the printer, then repeat
steps 20 and 21 to replace tray 2.
If an optional tray 4 is not attached to the
printer, proceed to step 25. If a tray 4 is attached, open the
transfer door on the right side of the printer.
Locate the two rollers. Remove the rollers
(upper roller first) and replace them (lower roller first). Note:
Press down on the lower roller while replacing the upper one.
Close the transfer door and turn the printer on.
The control panel should display the
message. PRESS SELECT IF FUSER IS BEING REPLACED. (If
you have not replacing the fuser, press GO to bypass this message, and go
to step 25.)
When the control panel displays the message,
press SELECT to bring the printer online and reset the fuser life
count.
If the control panel does not display the
message,
Press MENU until RESETS MENU appears on
the control panel display.
Press ITEM until RESET FUSER LIFE COUNT appears.
Press SELECT to reset the fuser life count.
Press GO to bring the printer online.
END: The fuser unit count is
reset, and the printer is ready to use.
